She is the one who dreamt of a cafe culture in Singapore and made that happen with menuprices.sg. She walks the streets and go hyper-mode behind her keyboard to discover and share new cafes in Singapore. She adores cafes with intricate interior and would die for divine desserts, droolicious brunch and great coffee. Other than cafes, she loves cats, marketing and ultimate frisbee.
The trip to 49 Seats was truly unplanned. My girl friends and I just happened to pass by this cafe and we were deciding for a place to have our dinner. We noticed the reasonable pricing and the staff emphasized that “their food is really good here”.
It is funny to hear self-praise but he was really not boasting at all! The food at this cafe is really good and the service staff are all so genuine and kind.

Look And Feel
I like the general look of the interior and the special elements like the ceiling lamps and wall art. However, I think that the cafe can be cozier with some sofa chairs and other furniture. Metal chairs like such should be banned from cafes! Hah

FOOD & DRINKS
As a starter for our set meals, we were served Mushroom Soup.
This is definitely one of the best mushroom soup I have tried. It is rich of mushroom taste and really thick. I almost licked the bowl dry.
My friend ordered a Fish N Chips and the serving portion was huge! It is quite an average Fish N Chips and a little more marination would do the job.
I ordered a Chicken Chop with black pepper sauce. It was grilled to perfection and the sauce made it really tasty. Some black pepper sauce are really overpowering but this one is just nice and not too spicy.

Beef Bolognaise which I couldn’t try!
My Tomyam lover friends ordered Tomyam Seafood Pasta. It is really very unique-tasting and it would take a true tomyam lover to appreciate the taste.
After the filling and satisfying dinner, we ordered a Wicked Brownie with Ice cream. The brownie is nice when served warm and the tasty vanilla ice cream went really well with it! If the brownie was just a little more moist, it would really be a perfect indulgence!
IN A NUTSHELL
I would say 49 Seats isn’t one of the most aesthetically pleasing cafes but the food would keep me going back! I would say the western food served here is above average and really worth its price. The service staff are also friendly and helpful, making the dining experience enjoyable. I urge you to try their food soon!
