Nine Fresh Fruity Ai-Yu Jelly
I’m always down for a new adventure. And when I saw the Fruity Ai-Yu Jelly on the menu, I knew that I just had to try it.
But what’s in it? Aloe vera pearl jelly, mango pearl jelly, konjac jelly, milk balls and taro balls.
It’s a bit of a mouthful to say, but it’s also just as much of a mouthful to eat—literally. You have to chew this thing up! You don’t just gulp it down like some other jellies I know of. But at least it tastes good! The aloe vera pearl jelly has kind of an earthy taste to it that I really enjoyed—and then there are all these little chewy bits that add texture and flavor without being overwhelming or overpowering your taste buds.
The fruity flavors and textures come together beautifully in this dish, and the fresh ingredients make it easy to enjoy. It’s also a lot of fun to eat! I recommend trying it with a friend—you’ll have a great time sharing your experience with them.

Nine Fresh Black Sugar Ai-Yu Jelly
Served with taro balls, milk ball, red bean and black pearl. Fans of chewy toppings will love this!
The jelly is a soft, chewy texture that’s not too hard to bite through. The toppings are all really delicious, and they compliment each other well. The black sugar ai-yu jelly itself is very sweet and has just the right amount of saltiness to it—it’s not too much or too little.
The red bean was my favorite topping of the bunch—it was soft and flavorful without being too sweet (which I find often happens with red beans). The black pearl was also very good—it had a nice crunch and no chalky aftertaste at all. And lastly, the milk ball had just enough sweetness in it that it wasn’t overwhelming when paired with everything else.
Nine Fresh Jellicious Cup
I’ve always loved the idea of a jelly dessert. The combination of sweet and tangy flavors, served in a platter of six colorful squares, just seems like the perfect way to end a meal.
But I’m also a big fan of snack foods, like potato chips and cheese puffs, so when I heard about Jellicious Cup—a dessert that comes in the form of bean curd, grass jelly, ai-yu jelly, honey popping jelly, kantan jelly and taro balls (6pcs)—I knew I had to try it.
The grass jelly was my favorite part—it had an amazing texture that reminded me of mousse or marshmallow fluff in its creaminess, but with more bite than either of those things would have given me. The bean curd was slightly sweet but also kind of mushy, so it wasn’t really my thing; I prefer my gelatinous desserts to be more solid than squishy. All of these flavors come together to create an amazing dessert that’s just as good as any other dessert you could get at Jellicious Cup!
Nine Fresh Grass Jelly Special
I’m not sure what I was expecting when I ordered the Grass Jelly Special. Maybe something like an edible garden of Eden, or maybe just a plate of green Jell-O. But what I received was so much more than that: A whole new world of flavor.
The aloe vera pearls were sweet and tangy, with just enough bite to make them interesting. The black sugar jelly dice tasted like they were made from the purest maple syrup on Earth—it was rich and sweet without being cloying. And the milk balls! Oh my goodness, those milk balls. They were like little drops of happiness in my mouth.
The taro balls added some texture that really brought everything together—they added the perfect amount of crunch to offset the softness of everything else on the plate.
And then there’s that grass jelly itself… Oh my goodness! If you’ve never had grass jelly before (you should try it!), it’s basically like eating a pile of grass clippings soaked in sugar water—it’s crunchy and sweet at first, but it also leaves behind a lingering sensation that feels almost salty/savory as well—and then finishes off with this amazing aftertaste that makes me want more!
Nine Fresh Signature
Nine Fresh Signature is a great dessert option for any meal. It’s served with bean curd, grass jelly, red bean, green bean, pinto bean, peanuts and taro balls.
The texture of this dish is unique and delicious; it’s not too sweet or too bitter, and it has just enough crunch to keep you coming back for more! The jelly is soft but still holds its shape when you bite into it. The taro balls are a bit chewy—not unlike biting into a gummy bear—but they don’t have an overwhelming flavor on their own. The peanut flavor is subtle but comes through when you eat the dish. The flavors are balanced perfectly so that every bite is just right!
This dish was recommended by one of their customers who said “It’s like eating dessert for lunch.” We agree! This dish is perfect for those days when you want something sweet but still healthy enough to count as lunch (so… every day).
