While I love to review food, I love to monitor food prices. Given how inflated food costs are, I still enjoy the happiness of eating. Besides writing for Cafehopping, I do blog about fun places to head to @SGDIRECTORY.

Hot Tomato Salmon Mango Salsa

This salmon mango salsa is a fresh and zesty dish that will make you say “wow.” The salmon fillet is infused with lemon juice, fresh herbs, and topped with cool mango salsa and parsley. It’s a perfect balance of sweet and spicy, with a hint of saltiness from the lemon juice.
And you know what? It was great! The lemon in the salmon fillet really brightened up our palates, and the mango salsa was a perfect complement to the fish’s natural flavor. I could really taste a lot of different ingredients in there—a bit of cilantro, some fresh lime juice (or maybe even lime zest), and some sweetness from the mangoes themselves. The parsley gave it just enough peppery bite to make us come back for more!
The dish was very filling because it had a lot of protein (salmon), but it didn’t feel heavy at all since there was so much flavor from the jalapeño peppers as well as all of those different herbs. This would be great for someone who wants something light yet filling for lunch or dinner!
Hot Tomato Argentinian Angus Sirloin & Grilled Tiger Prawns

It was my first time I’ve ever tried an Argentinean Angus Sirloin and Grilled Tiger Prawns dish, but let me tell you: it was worth the wait.
I’ve always been a big fan of steak at restaurants, but I never really thought about how much work goes into making sure that everything—from the meat to the sauce—is prepared just right. This dish from Hot Tomato blew me away with its simplicity and attention to detail.
The steak itself is cooked perfectly—it’s tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It’s not too salty or too fatty; it’s just right. But the star of this show is definitely the tiger prawns. They’re grilled just right and are so fresh that they practically melt in your mouth. The texture is perfect: crunchy on the outside but tender on the inside, with just enough spice to give them some kick!
If you’re looking for something new to try out at Hot Tomato, don’t miss out on this Argentinian Angus Sirloin & Grilled Tiger Prawns creation!
Hot Tomato Baby Back Pork Ribs (1/2 Slab)

These ribs were amazing.
The first thing that stood out to me about these ribs was their smell: they smelled like barbecue sauce! It was incredible—like someone had taken all of my favorite things and combined them into one juicy slab of meaty goodness. It was hard not to just start gnawing away at them right then and there, but I held back because I knew how good they’d taste once they were fully cooked.
When I finally got around to cooking them up, man oh man did they blow me away! The meat was tender and juicy, with just enough fat to keep it from drying out in the oven. The spices were perfectly balanced—not too spicy or too bland—and the sauce had just enough tanginess without being overpowering or bitter tasting. And did I mention that it smelled like barbecue sauce? Because that’s important too!
Overall: 10/10 would recommend!
Hot Tomato Chicken Chop And Kurobuta Sausage

When it comes to grilled chicken, I’m a bit of a snob. I don’t like it when the meat is dry, or bland, or too oily. So when I saw this Kurobuta Sausage and Grilled Chicken Chop on the menu at Hot Tomato, I was worried it would be one of those things that just sounded good in theory but not in practice.
The grilled chicken chop was moist, juicy, and full of flavor—we could’ve eaten it plain, but the accompanying Kurobuta sausage was somehow even better. And then there’s the black pepper sauce… oh dear. The sauce wasn’t just delicious; it was also a real show-stopper in terms of presentation, with its bright red hue and shiny finish.
It wasn’t spicy at all—just a bit spicy enough to make your palette tingle with delight—and paired perfectly with both elements on this dish. If you’re looking for something that will make your mouth water just by looking at it, this is the dish for you!
Hot Tomato Mixed Grill

I love this hot tomato mixed grill. Every bite is a mouthful of flavor, with each meat complementing the others and the tomato sauce bringing it all together. The chicken chop is very tender, and has just the right amount of spice to it—it’s not too overpowering, but still leaves a tingle on your tongue.
The lamb chop is also delicious—it’s got a stronger flavor than the other two meats, but it’s still delicious and well-balanced. And then there’s that pork loin… Wow! It’s so tender and savory, it’s like biting into a slice of heaven.
If you’re looking for something that’s going to be easy on your stomach but still fill you up after the meal, this is the way to go. The meat is tender and juicy without being greasy or fatty (as long as you don’t eat it all yourself), which makes it easy on your digestion system, too!
