Covid19 forces me to stay home and order food from various food apps. It became so boring while eating the same thing over and over! Now, it is my revenge time! I am to head out to various eateries in Singapore – restaurants, cafes, bubble teas, hawker food stores… At Cafe Hopping, I blog about the menus of places to eat and drink in Singapore.
Encik Tan is a popular F&B brand by Fie Siong group, that has more than 18 halal-certified outlets in Singapore. In their food menu, they also serve local popular Chinese food prepared with halal ingredients. They prepare Chinese food using the halal method with the same flavour and taste.
The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, from soup to noodles and rice. You can enjoy your meal in the restaurant or order takeout if you wish to eat at home.
This September, we have a news that Encik Tan increased its prices on some of its menu. Let’s take a look at the menu below.

Encik Tan Singapore Popular Menu 2023
Encik Tan is a popular restaurant in Singapore. They have many different types of food, but the most popular menu items for 2023 are:
Curry Chicken Drumstick Rice

Curry Chicken Drumstick Rice is one of the most popular dishes in Singapore. It consists of chicken drumsticks cooked in curry sauce along with rice and vegetables such as carrots, peas and onions. This dish is usually served with naan bread on the side so that you can dip it into your curry sauce while eating your meal!
Laksa

Laksa is a spicy noodle soup that originated from Malaysia. It is made with coconut milk and shrimp paste, along with other ingredients like fish cakes, tofu puffs, bean sprouts and fried onions. Laksa can be eaten for breakfast or dinner and is usually served with a hard boiled egg on top of it.
Fried Oyster

The fried oyster is a deep-fried shellfish that has been breaded and cooked in oil. It can be served as an appetizer or as part of a meal. Fried oysters are often served with tartar sauce, but they can also be eaten plain or with other dipping sauces like cocktail sauce or lemon juice.
Encik Tan Menu Singapore Updated in 2022
Encik Tan become famous in the world, not just on the basis of a few menu items, they built their business on serving tasty, nutritional, healthy Chinese halal food using fresh and natural ingredients. They always update their menus to bring their customers back.
Lor Mee
In 2017, Encik Tan was the only outlet in Singapore that had Lor Mee, this bowl sells out faster as compared to other food menus. That’s the fact, $5 for a bowl of Lor Mee is the cheapest price. In Lor Mee, they use a family recipe, so it’s not harmful to health, and also good in taste. It’s a good choice for any visitor who has less amount in their purse.
Pao Pao – Handmade Buns
At Encik Tan outlet, as we mentioned above, in 2017 it was s only one restaurant in Singapore that had a new Lor Mee and homemade buns menu. You can watch live their cook staff making buns. Many people love to watch while eating those handmade buns.
They always serve fresh buns to their customer, also prepare them in front of customers. Same as Fei Siong Group’s Nam Kee Pau, below are more detailed reviews of some items in the new menu.
As in their updated menu, only syntax outlet has all these menu items. We really hope that Encik Tan will expand this menu to other outlets also, so everyone can enjoy this wider variety of items at a reasonable price.
Encik Tan Best Seller
If you are looking for a place to have your dinner, Encik Tan is the right choice. It has been a favorite among the locals and tourists alike. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes that will surely satisfy your taste buds.
Here is their best seller menu:
Encik Tan Chicken Cutlet Curry Rice

The chicken cutlet curry rice is a fan favorite, and it’s easy to see why. The juicy fried chicken cutlet is paired with the mildly spicy Hainanese curry and braised gravy, which are served with cabbage and a fried egg. It’s a perfect blend of flavors that’s sure to leave you satisfied.
The chicken cutlets themselves are perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They’re fried in a mix of vegetable oil and butter, which gives them the perfect balance of rich flavor and light crispiness.

The curry sauce is mild but delicious; it’s made from coconut milk, ginger root, garlic cloves, fish sauce, and other spices that blend together beautifully to create a sweet-and-sour taste that goes perfectly with the savory fried chicken.
The cabbage adds some freshness to the dish, along with the fried egg that tops everything off. We love how this dish hits all the right notes: it’s not too hot or too sweet, with enough spice to make it interesting but not so much that it dominates your tastebuds.
Encik Tan Fishball Noodles

If you’re looking for a new way to enjoy noodles, this is it. The fishball itself is delicious and perfectly flavored, but the noodles themselves are also amazing. They’re thick and chewy, with just the right amount of bite. The combination of flavors is truly unique—you won’t find anything else quite like it!

The sauce is tangy and savory, with just enough heat to make your mouth water. This is a must-try for anyone who likes their noodles light and flavorful!
Encik Tan Wanton Noodle

We had the Wanton Noodles with fried wanton and it was delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the wantons were so crisp that they almost made a sound when you bit into them.
The wanton mee is aromatic and tasty, with a sweet and savory taste that’s light and not too overpowering. There’s also a hint of spice, which makes it more interesting. The noodles are cooked just right—not too hard and not too soft either, with just enough bite to them. The wanton filling has just the right amount of seasoning and tastes great when combined with the noodles!

The serving size was generous, and I especially liked how they served it with a side portion of 6 fried wantons. It’s not often that you get to eat as much as you want, so this is definitely a plus point for me!
Encik Tan Char Kuay Teow

Kway teow, or fried kway teow, is a dish that has been around for centuries. It’s made with rice noodles and other ingredients like soy sauce and dried shrimp. The noodles are then fried in a wok with oil until they’re crispy on the outside but soft on the inside.

The noodles are just the right thickness and texture for us, and the flavor is perfectly balanced between savory and sweet. The shrimp is tender, with a mild flavor that pairs well with the noodles. The dish also comes with a variety of vegetables, which gives it some extra crunchy texture and freshness. This is a great dish to share with friends or family!
